I've participated in over 20 marathons, 40 half marathons, and this half marathon was by far the best event due to the scenic route, the Halloween theme, and the wine tasting. First time half marathoners should not do this one first as they will be disappointed with all other halves after this one.

The course, scenery, and people were all a delight to be a part of. It felt like I was running with nothing but friends, and family. The volunteers were great and the cheering was well appreciated.

It was an amazing experience for my first half marathon. I look forward to running more.

Traveling from Chicago to complete the 2009 Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon --- my first half marathon! -- was such an amazing experience. This half marathon experience will definitely be one of the most memorable races for me! The early morning fog coupled with the late October harvest colors were just extraordinary. It wasn't crowded, but the energy there that morning felt like we were running a big city marathon!
