This wine harvest and Halloween-inspired event is a favorite with runners, volunteers and spectators who enjoy the ideal weather, spectacular scenery, creative costumes and the celebratory Wine & Music Festival! Runners are treated to a course that starts at Francis Ford Coppola Winery and offers stunning views of the Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys on the way towards the finish below Lake Sonoma. SERGIO REYES of Palmdale, CA ran the scenic, winding 13.1 mile course in 1:06:46 for a new course record ahead of 2nd place finisher Josh Spiker from Ventura. Tiffany Marley of Lake Hughes, CA won her first Wine Country Half in a time of 1:20:13 defeating Shauna Berger of Santa Monica, CA. Reyes, winner of the 2008 Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon, was impressed by the course, “fifteen minutes before the race we were all standing at the start in the pitch black with temperatures in the 40’s. Then the dawn broke - the fog rose over the vineyards and it turned into an incredible morning. Easily the most beautiful race I've competed in!”
